2013 vintage is the perfect example of how good this blend dominated by syrah can be. The nose is rich and complex with aromas such as black fruits, spices, leather and earthy notes. On the palate the wine shows an elegant balance of refined tannins, concentration and full body.

Blend :

70% Syrah – 30% Grenache Noir

Average vine age :

Syrah : 35 years old

Grenache 30 years old   

Winemaking process :

Maceration in truncated wooden tank

Ageing :

18 months in french oak barrels (25% new barrels)

Tasting notes :

Intense and complex nose with black fruits and wild berries accompanied by leather and earthy aromas obtained by its long maturation. The moothfeel is typical from a colder vintage on a warm terroir, harmoniously blending freshness, generous texture and refined tannins.

Food and wine pairing :

Duck breast with green pepper sauce.

Ageing potential :

5 to 10 years

2013 « Expression » illustrates perfectly the amazing terroir we have here at Château La Dorgonne, in the heart of Luberon appellation. The concentration of « Safres » rocks brings great depth and long lasting aftertaste.
